I wanted to clarify a couple things. When Aldrecht (the mechanic) said they were an “ordinary person” I BELIEVE (from what I’ve heard in the community) that it was a translation error and should have been “a nice person” . Which is why he said “she must have a hard life, poor thing.” given the society she lives in.
When the teacher was giving the history lesson. He said the Legion have an operating time of 6 years. And that they wiped out their creators 4 years ago. Without anyone to program new, or maintain these robots, that would mean the remaining legion only have 2 years left of operating time. Which is why everyone in the Republic is so nonchalant about this war, and the Military in general is so out of sorts, that Lena’s friend, Annete, keeps telling her “former military” won’t mean shit on her future resume lol.
One more thing, if you are confused about some of the jargon used by the 86, or many of the terms thrown around, that’s purposeful. They’ll throw a lot of terms around that will be picked up in context over the course of the show, or explained later. Sometimes characters will be having conversations that makes no sense to the viewer. I know I said “what tf did they say” a few times while watching. When you’re done with the show I would like to request some additional fan videos on Youtube that point out a lot of little details the Author (Asato Asato) / Director of the anime (Toshimasa Ishii) leave in the series. Really enjoyed this one, excited for the next 🙂

OH! Yes, I knew I missed something about the whole ‘war is gonna end in 2 years’ thing. So they know for a fact they wiped out all of their creators? I mean, did they wipe out all their people in general? So right now we’re just basically fighting robots which are fighting automatically without anyone behind them? Or did I go too far with that? Sorry for all the questions😅😅😅
That sounds really interesting. I would love to react to those additional videos after I finish the series!
